Albert Head Regional Park

Access this park from Metchosin Road,, turn South-West on Farhill Road, then right on Lower Park Drive. Then turn on Park Drive to Delgata Road to the parking log.
Follow the signs to Albert Head Lagoon and Royal Bay where the beach is.

Albert Head Lagoon in Metchosin

Albert Head Lagoon Regional Park

This is a combination of a salty lagoon separated from the ocean by a narrow band of sand. Swans can be seen swimming in the lagoon, as well as ground nesting birds in the vegitation.

Witty's Lagoon Regional Park

Witty's Lagoon provides fun for the whole family! There are multiple entrance points to this park, along Metchosin Road. Trails wind down to the sand and pebble beach, which has a view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Washington State's Olympic Mountains.

Enjoy an afternoon laying in the sun or playing frisbee; the waters are often warm enough to wade far into the lagoon on the sandbars.

East Sooke Park

Discover miles of coastline and inland trails in this 3500 acre park. Situated between the communities of East Sooke and Metchosin, East Sooke Park can be described as a Wilderness Recreational park, a place where you can observe nature in its natural habitat.

Galloping Goose Trail

Galloping Goose Trail

The Galloping Goose is quickly becoming a popular destination for many avid cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders. Weaving its way through the westshore communities, the trail makes a pass through Metchosin on its way to the now-abandoned goldrush town of Leechtown, far up the Sooke River. The Galloping Goose Trail is an easy going, gravel trail, wide enough for two people to bike side by side.

Roche Cove Park can be accessed from the Galloping Goose Trail or Gillespie Road, just up from the juction of East Sooke Road. Rugged coastline, but beautiful sunsets!
